New blog about Don’t miss catching these 10 baby milestones on video
After you have a baby time seems to fly by. From your baby’s first day in your arms, you want to remember it in as much detail as you can. If you’re like me, you’re probably rapidly taking photos. But what about video?
Did you catch this absolutely adorably video of a little baby giving his mama gigantic heart eyes?
Today I’m sharing 10 milestones that’ll make you want to switch from snap mode to record to catch the memory in motion.
1. Birth day: As in the day she’s born. Some of those sweet moments from the first day you meet. You’ll never get that back, but at least you can watch it over and over again.
2. Laughing: What makes your baby laugh? Do it, and have your camera ready.
3. Crying: It sounds wrong, but it’s so cute if you do it right. Babies cry a lot. While you’re soothing your baby, record a little bit of those soft baby cries cause trust me, as the years go by, they get a lot louder and less cute!
4. Crawling: Did your baby have a funny crawl like my daughter (check out the video)? A photo only gives you a glimpse of how it was, but a video puts the memory in full focus.
5. First foods: What’s your baby’s favorite foods? Are they a messy or a neat eater?
7. Talking: From those sweet coo sounds to first words, record your favorites.
8. First family holidays: Ok so baby’s first Christmas may be a little anti-climatic but it’s still worth remembering. Or getting some video of your little one under the tree.
9. Favorite things: Either your favorite things, or your babies’. Do you love bath time? Going on walks? Swinging? You’ll want to save some of those smiles.
10. First birthday: Some of my kids’ favorite videos to look back and watch are videos of us singing happy birthday to them. It’s the perfect milestone to wrap up your baby’s first year.
Remember you don’t need a fancy camera to record these moments, you can just use your cell phone which you know you always have on hand. If you start running out of space just email the videos to yourself and save it someplace else as a backup before you delete. I set up an email account for my kids and sometimes email it to that address, or edit into one “milestone” video for the year.
